Larger shandy – the right way!

Now recently I’ve been drinking shandy when I’ve gone to a pub or restaurant. Usually the bar staff will do 1 of 2 things. They will either pour half and half, or they will mix the pint at the end. I’m not sure how widespread that is but on a certain caravan park in Preston this was apparently how he’d been taught!

Getting to the point – ask them to mix the lemonade (take out the fizz) before they pour in the larger. If they don’t do this you get a ridiculously fizzy pint and no one wants that. By mixing the lemonade and making it somewhat flat you still get the crisp taste of lemonade with the smoothness of the larger.

Most bar staff will pull their face at this, who wants to do any extra work and still expect a tip eh, but you’re the customer and you want your drink how you want it.
